The Mistress of Loneliness is a sculptural floor-based video installation that explores notions of migrant isolation, loneliness, longing, and survival strategies, drawing on an autobiographical experience of Romagoza’s migration from Cuba to the US. “Chapter 1: The Departure” focuses on her memories of Cuba, and “Chapter 2: We the People” centers on Romagoza’s US citizenship process.
